Excellent Eatery

hh bbq platterGood morning everyone, this is Chief Science Officer Jennifer Sontag reporting from the bridge of the USS Tiburon currently in orbit around Earth.

A few weeks ago, the XO and I had the privilage of dining at retaurant in Parker, Colorado called Hickory House Ribs. We had always seen the place from the road but had never stopped in, but this time when we were out in Parker we decided to stop in. The decor is a typical BBQ rib joint but the staff was friendly and very attentive. It almost had a Texas Roadhouse feel without all the peanuts on the floor.

We were seated at a table that faced the outside and had a pleasent view of the parking lot. It also has a full bar and outside patio for dining when it’s still nice out, which in Colorado is most days.

I had the dish that’s pictured above, which is pulled pork and a half rack of their world famous BBQ ribs and includes baked beans, coleslaw, and a huge piece of Texas toast. The ribs were finger licking good, and the meat just fell off the bone. The BBQ sauce was to die for. As for the pulled pork, it also was very good. Usually when you go to BBQ joints and you order the pulled pork all you get is a big ball of fat and grease but not here. The pork was excellent.  The price for the whole meal was very reasonable, for the dinner above it was $14.95.

I would go back anytime!Perhaps to visit their second location in Aspen, Colorado.

That’s all for now, see you next month.
