From the Roving Restaurant Reporter / First Officer

logo-north-new_conceptI’ve just returned from a trip planetside and a dining experience at North Italia – located one block north of the Cherry Creek Mall on the corner of Clayton Lane and Second Street.

There is plenty of parking nearby (street, parking garage, and parking lot) within easy walking distance. It is a bit on the pricier side of the dining spectrum but the food is quite good. I had “The Pig” pizza (pepperoni, soppresata, salami, italian fennel sausage) and my dining companion had “The Heirloom Beet” salad  (roated beet, apple, arugula, hazelnut, ricotta salata cheese, lemon creme fraiche) and added diced chicken as our main courses. The pizza was quite good and I heard no complaints about the salad (she finished her meal before I finished mine). I do need to point out that the ice tea had a hint of peach on the back end – so if, like me, you don’t like peach flavored tea don’t order the iced tea. For dessert my companion enjoyed the Salted Carmel Budino and I had the Dark Chocolate Tart and we both had decaf coffee (to get rid of the after taste from the tea). Decadent and delicious is all I can say about the dessert – went well with the coffee although a nice Earl Grey might have been better with my chocolate.

Friendly waitstaff and very good service all around. If you’re in the Cherry Creek area and are looking for some good Italian food this restaurant is well worth considering.
