Good Times and Great Food

hickory-house

Hey everyone, this is Chief  Science Officer Jennie Sontag, reporting from the bridge of the USS Tiburon with a very full stomach.

The crew and I, along with a few select guests, enjoyed a wonderful night out at the Hickory House BBQ joint in Parker, Colorado, on the night of April 8th. I have to say, it was one of the best BBQ joints that I have ever been to. I had the ribs and pulled pork with a baked potato, the ribs were to die for and the pulled pork had just enough BBQ sauce to make it wonderful. The ribs were reputed to be the fall off the bone type and they more than lived up to the reputation.

After we were pleasantly top offed, the First Officer, Doug Davenport and I indulged in the Skillet Cookie Sundae, it was wonderful. I shouldn’t have any of it, but when it came out it smelled like a dream. We split it down the middle and each finished half.

Some of the other crew members devoured steaks, hamburgers and other assorted sandwiches.  I don’t think I heard one word for quite some time after the food came out, which for this crew, is really saying something. The food really exceeded anything that the replicators or the chef could come up with, sorry Neelix.

Everyone had a good time and we can’t wait to go back.

Signing off for another month, this is Chief Science officier Jennifer Sontag, saying goodbye.
