ISS Space Station

240px-STS-134_International_Space_Station_after_undockingISS_insignia.svgGood Afternoon, this is CSO Jennifer Sontag reporting from the USS Tiburon’s science position.

I have a real treat for you this week, i have found a really cool video from the ISS (International space station). It shows how they got the images from the space station and some magnificent views of the earth from the ISS. And if you need/want more information about the space station I would recommend wikkiepdia or NASA website. They both have a lot of information about the space station but here are a few things I learned about the space station.

Launched—November 20,1998
orbit height—230 miles above earth
cost—150 Billion dollers
largest artificial body in orbit

It has scientists studying anything from astrobiology, astonomy space medicene  such as (no gravity effects on the human body). And it is set up to be the staging  area for any mission to mars or back to he moon.
It also has a the only geocahe station that’s not on earth, it was placed there by non-NASA traveler.

chris hadfieldRight now the commander of the ISS is Chris Hadfield of Milton, Ontario. He is the first Canadian to command a space mission. He has also had the privilage of talking to our own Captain Kirk during a live telephone call back in Febuary
