SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT – Acting Ensign Jessica Wolfson receives STARFLEET Award.

The USS Tiburon is very proud to announce that at the 2012 STARFLEET International Conference in Memphis TN earlier this month our own Acting Ensign Jessica Wolfson received the 2012 STARFLEET Junior Officer of the Year award.

Jessica’s name was submitted with other STARFLEET members from all across the organization, 7 total nominations in the Junior Officer of the Year category.

Here is the nomination for Jessica Wolfson as Junior Officer of the Year:

“Since Jessica and her family joined the USS Tiburon over two years ago she has been a consistent joy to have at Tiburon events.  At each and every Tiburon event Jessica has some assortment of STAR TREK trivia to quiz the members with. Even though Jessica is only 12, (13 by the time this award is presented) she has no issues fitting in with the crew of the Tiburon.

As for academics, Jessica is a typical 12/13-year-old student.  Jessica was invited and participated in a special Robotics course that was offered at her school.  Jessica also enjoys many extracurricular activities including weightlifting and rock climbing, where Jessica has excelled and qualified for her belaying certification.

Jessica is not afraid to jump in and offer her help.  This past spring the CO & XO were moving, Jessica was involved in an accident on her bicycle that caused a significant injury to her.  On the day of the move Jessica insisted that she come help because she had said she was going to. Jessica not only helped moved stuff (light work) she also ensured that those members loading the truck had water and snacks as they needed it.

These are only a few examples of why Jessica should be awarded the Junior Officer of the Year Award for Region 17.  Jessica is the perfect example of a young member of STARFLEET.”

A big congratulations to Jessica on her award!  We are very proud to have Jessica as part of the Tiburon family.
