Travel through Time

coloradoGood morning, this is Chief Science officer Jennifer Sontag reporting from the bridge of the USS TIburon.

As everyone knows it’s the start of the summer travel season down on Earth and I wanted to tell you about a wonderful place i found while down on shore leave. It’s a place called Colorado and it has a lot of beautiful sites to see and wonderful things to do.

You can travel across the plains like the settlers did in the 19th century by covered wagon. You can hike the many trails and canyons (you might even spot  Colorado official animal, the bighorn sheep). You can dine in some of the most tasteful restaurants sampling everything from buffalo to elk and somethings in between and if your really adventurous you can try one of the notorious Rocky Mountain oysters. There not bad just a little strange.

If you are interested in Colorado history, there are many small towns that you can visit.  If you are interested in mining you can visit Idaho springs and tour what was once a working gold mine called the Argo or take the trip up the pass from Breckenridge to Leadville and once you are in Leadville you can traverse the trail called Route of the Silver Kings. The route takes you up to the many mines in the area and gives a great view of what life was like for the miners.

If ancient history is more your style then you can visit the four corners area of  Colorado where you can walk in the shoes of the ancient Indians called the Anasazi and see where they lived in Mesa Verde.

Colorado has a lot to offer any adventurer and has a lot to offer those who just want to to stare out at a mountain lake.

That’s all for now, see you in a month…..
