God Speed my Friend

Spock-Leonard-Nimoy

This is Chief Science officier Jennifer Sontag currently serving aboard the USS Tiburon. We are in orbit around the planet earth preparing to beam down for a most solemn occasion.

For those who don’t already know, it is my sad duty to announce that Ambassador Spock, formally of the USS Enterprise has died at his home on Vulcan. He was 83 years old in earth years and is survived by his wife and children.

I first meet Spock while I was a cadet at Starfleet Academy in San Francisco, I wasn’t doing so well in my classes and Spock took me aside and gave me the courage to pursue my dreams as a Starfleet science officer. As many people will attest, Ambassador Spock had his own sense of humor and was able to bring a sense of logic and understanding to many different and diverse problems. I know that most people will see Spock as a uncaring and unemotional Vulcan, but that wasn’t the case. He did have a caring side and was a friend to all living things especially a small black cat named “Isis”.  And even though he would never admit this he also had a fondness for small fuzzy animals called Tribbles.

You will be missed and the universe seems a little but empty without you, but say hello to Dr. Mccoy and Scotty for us.

“I have always been, and always shall be your friend.”

Thank you and god speed.
