Away Mission to the PAST!

IMG_0006Good morning from the USS Tiburon, currently in orbit around the planet Earth. This is Chief Science Officer Jennifer Sontag reporting from the science lab.

Last weekend, the Tiburon got caught in a time travel loop and was spirited away back to the Renaissance age in Earth’s history. As the crew’s history buff, I was really excited to beam down and start exploring. We entered the village and discovered that they were having a festival, with merriment and tons of food and lots of people.

IMG_0010We were greeted by the king and queen with their court as we walked into the town. All the merchants in the village had their wares out for sale, and I was amazed at the variety they offered. They had everything from clothing to jewelry to weaponry.  Luckily, I still had a little currency from the replicator and I could indulge in the delicious food they had to offer. We sampled everything from turkey legs, to fried clams, steak on a stake to blackberry cobbler, and even a strange earth vegetable called an artichoke which our communication officer loves.

IMG_0031As we concluded our walk through this medieval village we came across a falconer showing off some of their birds of prey. The birds were all rescues that had been saved and their injuries, such as broken wings or lacerations from being caught in fences, treated.

After a long day at the faire, the away team beamed back to the ship and went back to their duties.

That is all for now, see you later,

Fleet Captain Jennifer Sontg
