An Update from the First Officer

Greetings once again ladies and gents,

Here is a list of some of our upcoming events here on the USS Tiburon. (Non-paying members please be sure to read all the way to the end for a special note.)

Nature Walk (open to all):

December 3 – We’ll meet at the Rocky Mountain Arsenal near Dick’s Sporting Goods Park at noon for a short walk followed by a drive through the recently opened nature drive which goes into the bison enclosure. Hopefully we’ll be able to see at least a few of these powerful animals lounging around.

Friday Night Socials (open to all):

December 9 has been canceled due to an annual members only event scheduled for December 10

January 13 We’ll be at HuHot in Northfield

February 10 see you at the Cedar Creek Pub in Aurora

National Western Stock Show (open to all):

January 7 (opening weekend) We’ll head out to the National Western Complex and check out the trade show. Those that are interested will also attend the Colorado vs. the World Rodeo that evening.

Annual Holiday Party (PAID MEMBERS AND INVITED GUESTS ONLY)

December 10 at Outpost Broomfield we’ll enjoy a little holiday cheer and our Annual White Targ Gift Exchange. The recommended limit for the gift exchange is $20 (feel free to spend more or less if you like) and you must bring a gift for the exchange in order to participate. This will also be a potluck party so please bring a dish to share. Please remember that this is a paid members and invited guests only event which is being held at a private residence.

Ronald McDonald House (PAID MEMBERS AND INVITED GUESTS ONLY)

On February 11 we’ll meet up at 10:30am at the Ronald McDonald House in Aurora to make lunch for the residents. Due to the nature of the event and space limitations this is a paid members and invited guests only event.

Please note that, as we are now in snow season here in Colorado, event dates and times are subject to change or cancellation with little to no warning in the event of severe weather.

For non-paying members please stay tuned to this Tiburon frequency for some possible exciting news to be announced at either the December or January meetings. The command staff was recently sequestered in order to come up with something that you may find of interest.

In closing I wish you all Happy Thanksgiving and all the best that the forthcoming holiday season has to offer!

Respectfully,

The First Officer
