Special Report – Vegas Away Mission

Today we have a very special report from Ensign Ronald Seipel from our Western Slope Outpost about his adventures at Creation Entertainment’s 14th Annual Las Vegas Official STAR TREK Convention 2015. I want to personally thank Ron for taking the time to do this for us.

20150803_235903873_iOSHello to my crew mates of the USS Tiburon. Most of you do not know me, because I can’t attend the meetings. I live in the mountains on the Western Slope. Bran had asked me to get him an autograph of James Darren, and write an article on the con so here goes.
20150803_233901197_iOSAfter getting permission, I took a shuttle craft to the planet Risa for some shore leave After 8 hours at sub light speed ,my Imzadi and I arrived at the Vegas settlement. As soon as we departed the craft, we were greeted by the local inhabitants of the Rio, where we would be spending our time. Shortly after getting settled in, I decided to go see some of the sights.

After we had returned to the Rio, I was amazed at the new attractions that were there this year, like the original series bridge and Borg alcoves. And, as always, the Guardian of Forever, so if you wanted to take a trip in time you could. Quark’s bar was back and better then ever, this year you could even spin the Dabo wheel. There were at least 110 celebrities from around the Galaxy like Sir Patrick Stewart, George Takei and Jeri Ryan. I had the pleasure of meeting all of them and getting autographs and photos.

20150809_001042865_iOSI also had the pleasure of seeing the Voyager crew after 20 years back from the Delta Quadrant. I really enjoyed listening to the stories they told about their time in the Delta Quadrant, Neelix (Ethan Phillips) was like the class clown joking with everyone.
After this symposium, it was time to go to the Risen marketplace to purchase souvenirs to bring back, and man did I spend a lot of Latinum there.
20150806_054605565_iOSAfter a long day of shopping and listening to symposiums it was time to gamble. Quark was not very happy with me when I left because I had come out substantially ahead. Then I went to meet up with some friends like Heather Barker, Vic Mignogna, Michelle Specht and Chris Doohan and a few others at the Masquerade bar for some cocktails and good conversation.
But what I enjoyed the most was the tribute that they gave for Leonard Nimoy. It was great and his son Adam had a lot of good things to say. There was not a dry eye in the house and yes, that included me. Also, during this time I was able to show my Imzadi the night life of Risa from the top of the Eiffel Tower. It was spectacular.
20150806_203846750_iOSWell, now it is time to call an end to this trip to Risa, get back to the ship and go back on duty. Stay tuned though, because if given permission, I will be heading for a place called Oklahoma on the planet Earth to meet and greet at Starbase Studios in October. I hope that you all have enjoyed this little story about my shore leave on Risa for the 2015 Star Trek convention, until next time hailing frequencies closed.
