Ronald Mcdonald House

Good afternoon, this is Jennifer Sontag reporting from the bridge of the USS Tiburon currently in orbit around earth.

The command staff and I recently served lunch at the Ronald Mcdonald House in Aurora Colorado.

We have been serving lunch to the residents at the house for many years, a couple of years with the Klingon group at the Denver House, and then later we branched out on our own to the Aurora location. That house is right in out backyard and they were thrilled to have us. Last year, we made the residents ham, taco bake and a salad. This year, we decided to do something different, and served a taco bar, salad and some cookies for desert.

If you are not familiar with the Ronald Mcdonald house charity, they provide food and free housing for families that are dealing with a child who is in the hospital. The families never receive a bill for their stay, and are welcome to stay as long as needed. The house provides food, shelter, WiFi, television and transportation if needed.

If you are looking for something to do, they always need basic supplies like toilet paper, other sundry items and office supplies. You can go onto their website for a list and more information.

Thanks again, this is Chief Science officer Jennifer Sontag signing off until next time.
