Bears, Sharks and Trekkers Oh My!

Good morning everyone, this the Chief Science Officer Jennifer Sontag reporting from the bridge of the USS Tiburon currently in route back to base from an away mission. The crew and I had the privilege of beaming down to one the most scenic spots in all of Colorado, Estes Park, gateway to Rocky Mountain National Park.

We had a great time exploring the town and getting to experience their 100th birthday party. Congratulations!

Once we were done exploring the town, we went to Rocky Mountain National park for a small hike in Beaver Meadows.  We had about a 6-mile walk within the meadows and by a fortunate mistake, we got to see an animal that most people will never see in their life time.

We actually got to see mother brown bear with her two cubs.  You can’t see the cubs in this picture but you can see the mother.  Thanks to our 1st Officer Doug Davenport who knew exactly what to do so everyone survived. The mom and babies ran back up the hill in peace.

Thanks to everyone participated in the away mission to Estes Park, it’s one that I don’t think anyone will forget.

Signing off for now, Chief Science Officer Jennifer Sontag
